July 28 Aurora Sun Sentinel: Hot Stuff 2005:
Best Place to Buy Fine Art
Critics’ and Readers’ Choice
East End Applied Arts
East End, the first private gallery to open its doors in the Original Aurora arts district doesn’t actually show too much fine art. Only two of the gallery’s contributing artists fall under that genre. So we took the liberty to make fine art mean just good art.
And if you’re looking for quality – whether talking about applied or fine art – East End has the goods. Since opening in late December, the gallery has hosted to themed shows.
The first, “UK in the USA: Applied Art from the British Isles,” was a smashing success, as our friends on the other side of the pond would say.
But co-owners, Kim Harrell and Lani Sloss truly outdid themselves with their second attempt, the highly-highly lauded “Red Show,” which wraps up July 30. The name says it all, as do the many bold pieces from Colorado and foreign artists alike. |
