Where are you coming from?
AURORA- Inspired by the fact that we are “stuck” in the middle of America, Fe-Mail Box is hosting an exhibition of mail art that begs the question: Where are you coming from? Fe-Mail Box, a collaborative organization created by Kim Harrell of East End Applied Arts and Theresa Anderson of Anderson’s Art Box, is encouraging mail-art works that question one’s place not only in the physical sense, but also in the psychological, spiritual, philosophical, and theoretical sense.
The organization has already received entries from regional, national, and international artists and will continue to accept pieces until June 5, 2009. The 4” x 6” postcard sized paintings, drawings, photos, prints, and mixed media works are all welcome for this exhibition. To download the call for entry form, please go to www.eastendarts.com or http://theresaanderson.mosaicglobe.com.
‘Where are you coming from?’, opens Friday, June 12 as part of the East End Arts District summer art walk, with a public reception from 5 – 9 pm, at anderson’s art box/east end applied arts, 1556 Florence Street, 80010 in Aurora. The exhibition continues through July 8 from noon – 5.30pm. The exhibition is free and open to the public. You can visit the mail art blog at http://www.fe-mailbox.blogspot.com or join the ‘Fe-Mail Box’ Facebook group.
