Winter Festival 2008

Artists exhibiting in winter festival 2008 share no formal aesthetic. While some of the exhibitors use the same media, whether paint, print, ceramic, or silver, each artist manipulates his/her media differently to create one of a kind pieces . However, what the artists do share are the aspects that define the processes behind their work. The participants are interested in experimentation with the form and function of each piece. They use materials as inspiration for what their work is to become. The artists have a vision for their work and share the belief that the viewer is responsible for what they see and interpret the work before them.

A majority of the artists exhibiting in ‘winter festival 2008’ are residents of Colorado. Their exceptional works represent the Colorado contemporary art scene. Using clay and porcelain, Mary Cay, Kara Worthen and Meredith Nemirov
